SketchUp 2022 Just Released - Find out What is New?

SketchUp 2022 was just released with some of the great new features. Following is a quick review of new features.

Lasso Select

The Lasso Select tool, like the Select tool, lets you draw arbitrary selection borders without having to rotate the camera. With stylus inputs, you can also construct numerous discrete selections in one click-drag operation and choose items much faster.

Stamp Copy

New Stamp Copy Tool allows you to duplicate an entity and stamp each one with a single click. This tool is useful for spreading things naturally across a specific region. In a landscape design, for example, you may rapidly place scale people or other entourage. It’s also useful for producing several copies along one axis at irregular intervals, such as in an urban planning model to display crosswalks.

Tag Tool

Tag Tool, a new feature that allows you to apply tags to entities or pre-selected entities, will help you organize your model more efficiently. By marking objects directly in the modeling window using the Tag tool, you may speed up model organization, quickly clean out unwanted tags, and increase reporting fidelity by bulk updating the tagging of component instances.

Freehand

With a significant update to the Freehand tool, it’ll be smooth sailing from now on. You can build organically drawn lines and Follow Me extrusions with more natural variance using smoother curve entities.

Freehand makes more segments since its output is smoother. You can decrease the segmentation of a curve incrementally after it has been drawn. With each increment, SketchUp assists you by offering visible feedback. Axis locking may now be used to specify a drawing plane in Freehand, and it’s now possible to draw across adjacent faces on various planes.

Tangent Inference Lock

You may now easily specify and lock arc tangency from an existing edge or arc using the new tangent inference toggles for 2-Point and 3-Point Arc tools.

The tangent arc is not only more predictable, but it also allows you to design curved faces in less time. For the victory, timesavers!

Scene Search

You certainly develop a lot of different scenes to express those precise features if you create architectural visualisation outputs or construction documents. As a result, extensive Scene lists with coded names must be scanned visually. Isn’t it time-consuming? You may now quickly identify and move to your selected scene using Scene Search, a new search filter adjacent to the Scenes tab.
